Sealants are a type of liquid photopolymer (white or colorless) used to seal the grooves and pits on the chewing surface of the teeth. It is advisable to apply them immediately after the full eruption of the molars. For the sixth molars, this usually occurs between the ages of 6 and 7.
It is extremely important to follow all protocols during the application to achieve a perfect result. A poorly applied sealant can do more harm than good.
